Gallatin Glissade - Freestyle Nordic Race, Big Sky, Montana

Registration & Finish: 2 miles from 191 on Highway 64, right on Little Coyote, then 1st left on Black Otter, .5 miles left on golf course. On site registration: 7:30-9 am. $25 for 20k, $10 for 2k. The race is a fun point–to-point freestyle (skate or classic) race. Start is at 6900’, Lone Moose Meadows. Finish is at 6200’ at Big Sky’s Bunker on the golf course. Homestake End of Season Party - From Chris Axelson: "We are getting near the end of the ski season at Homestake Lodge, so its time for our annual end of season celebration. We’ll hope for a bright sunny day or oodles of new snow, either way, the skiing will be free. From 11:30 to 2:00 we’ll be serving a barbecue of hamburgers, brats and beer on tap for $5. There may even be some of Mandy's homemade soup. Everything in the shop will be on sale at 30% off our regular prices. Come on out and enjoy a day with friends and family and maybe make a few new acquaintances along the way.

Equinox Ski Challenge, Rendezvous Ski Trails, West Yellowstone, MT. Mass start, freestyle technique. Racers complete as many laps as they can in the 6 Hour, 12 Hour or 24 Hour divisions. Skiers can enter as a relay team of up to 8 members or as a soloist. Race details.

BSF Nordic End of the Season Party 5:30 p.m. at Lindley Center. We will honor our graduating skiers, and have the Third Annual Skiers' Choice Awards. Don't miss out on the fun!

This event is is a BSF-Nordic sponsored barbecue (not a potluck). Come help us celebrate a fantastic 2009/2010 ski season!

BSF athletes and coaches, please bring your BSF jacket for a team photo.

Parents/volunteers who are able to arrive at 4:15 p.m.and help take down the Lindley Park snow fence and snow-making equipment would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Rotary Fun Run:   A fun run for the Bozeman Deaconess Cancer Center, put on by Bozeman High School students of the Rotary Interact Club.  5km and 1 mile distances.  Where:  East Gallatin Rec Area. The Beartooth Run, Red Lodge. Montana - 8.4 or 4.2 distances. The course winds up the switchbacks of the Beartooth Pass through alpine, mountain scenery, starting at an elevation of nearly 7,000 feet and finishing at the scenic outlook of Vista Point at more than 9,200 feet. Pre-registration until June 14, 2009, On-line registration- 4.2 or 8.4, Race Day registration available at the start area from 7:00-7:45 a.m.

July 4

 

Make it Hurt on the Dirt Duathlon, Homestake Lodge, Butte, MT. Race start time: 9:00am. Adults (10K+ Mt Bike and 5K+ Run), Youth Race (2k mountain bike and 1k run). Great way to start celebrating the 4th of July: music and famous cheesburger feed. This event will be run at the Homestake Lodge. The courses will be on the x-c ski trails and forest service roads. They will wind through woods, meadows and include some steep ascents and descents. Online Registration. Adults $30/Relay $45/ Youth $12.50 Directions: Get off I-90 at Exit 233 and head to the south side of the highway overpass. Forest Service Road 240 begins at the cattle guard. Drive 3 miles and look for the Homestake Lodge Entry on the right after the power lines.

Sweet Pea Festival. BSF Nordic volunteers needed to help with food preparation, set-up at the booth, food servers to work various shifts at the booth, help with take down of the booth. FYI, workers must attend food safety training course at the courthouse. Please contact Shawn Dunnagan or Sue Higgins if you can help.

31st First Security Bozeman Classic (Sweet Pea Run), 5k and 10k, The 10k will start at 7:15 am and the 5k at 7:25. You can register in person August 5-7 at First Security Bank West 10am to 6pm, or Register Online at Active.com, or Download a registration form at winddrinkers.org (go to the bottom of the page). There is no race day registration. J4/J3/J2 should do the 5k, and J1/OJ should race 10k.

 

After the race be sure to join us in the Sweet Pea Parade. Decorate yourself in flowers and rollerski (or walk if you don't have rollerskis) down Main Street with BSF Nordic! Meet the team (with yourself decorated!) and help decorate the van at the Coop parking lot at 9:45 a.m. Need inspiration for decorating yourself? This year’s Parade theme is "Sweet Pea Celebrates Our Roots: Art, Culture, Community."

Canmore Camp, Canmmore, Alberta, Canada. All J3 second-year and older athletes (13 or older by Jan. 1, 2010) are invited to participate in this amazing camp experience in the beautiful Canadian Rockies near Banff. Passports required for entry into Canada.

Homestake 5-miler at Homestake Lodge.

10:00 AM Start of Youth Race and Adult Race Start immediately after Youth Race finish.

It’s the 3rd annual trail run on Homestake Lodge’s trail system. Cash awards to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the overall Women’s and Men’s categories ($125, $75, $50). There will also be a 1 Mile Kids Race (12 and Under). The terrain is varied with a mix of old roads and single track, some steep ascents and descents. Entry fee: Adults $25 and Youth $10.

The BSF Nordic Snow Dance and Auction at the Emerson Culteral Center Ballroom. Live and silent auction items include resort vacations, alpine ski lift tickets, original artwork and more. Funds raised support community skiing, trail grooming and youth cross-country ski racing. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Live auction begins at 7:30 p.m. For tickets or Donations.

BSF Thanksgiving Camp open to J3 and older athletes. Vans will depart for West Yellowstone at 7am from the Swim Center. Be there by 6:45 to load up. Please email Kristen and Dragan if you are driving with your family to West and will have room to take BSF gear in your vehicle. Thanks!

Lindley World Cup Race #1 and potluck - Classic Distance Race

The LWC race is a very low-key event and is intended to be fun.  The race will begin as soon as we can after training starts.  Anyone wishing to watch the race is more than welcome, or better yet--race with us!  The race will start at the stadium area next to the Lindley Center building.  Racers should dress in a "winter holiday theme costume;" be sure to pick something you can ski in!  FYI, awards will be given out for the three best costumes.  After the race, we will have our December potluck in the Lindley Center. 

Parents: plan to drop off and pick up your skiers at Lindley Center.

Race start will be at Lindley Center (drop off and pick up athletes at the Lindley Center parking lot). The race will start at approximately 4:30 p.m. Everyone welcome!!

BSF Nordic Potluck and Lindley World Cup#3 - Duathlon :) We will do classic and then skate. Athlete pick-up and drop-off will be at Lindley Center today. Wear Valentine's Day costumes for this race. Top three costumes win a cowbell prize!!

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Films start at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Bangtail Bike & Ski, Northern Lights, or Mountain Hot Tub for $12 one night, $22 for two nights. Legends of the Wulf Race - "Heads up from Mile High Nordic!  The Legends of the Wulf ski race will be February 13, 2010 at the Mt. Haggin Ski Trails.  19 and 9 K races as well as kids races!  The 9/19 race starts @ 11AM There will also be a non-timed tour starting shortly after the race start....the post race feed will be held afterwards at the Chamber of Commerce in Anaconda.

Feathers n Fins Skiathlon - Harriman State Park is hosting its 2nd annual skiathon on Saturday, February 27th. The event is a freestyle ski (classic and/or skate) designed for ALL people interested in getting out in winter on ski trails.
