Fall BSF Nordic Masters Training, September 2 - October 31, 2008.
BSF Nordic is offering Fall Program for Masters. We will have four different groups depending on group interest and time. Masters groups are open for groups of 8-12 skiers.
Fall fee is $200 for the three sessons which start at 8:15 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 4:15 p.m. Coaches for these groups will be Dragan Danevski, Gro Lunde, Bjorn Bakken and BSF Elite Team members including Sarah Willis, a graduate student at MSU in Exercise Physiology.
Also, a NEW Introductory Group is meeting this fall with Norm Bishop as the coach. The introductory group will meet from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Fall fee for the Introductory group is $120.
Groups will meet at Lindley Park or MSU Track Stadium on September 2, 2008 at 8:15 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., or 4:15p.m. Next training will be determined with the group coach.
Noon group will mostly work on roller skiing, running and ski imitations, both classic and skate technique. There is an option for an additional group at Noon for people who do not roller ski--we need a minimum of 5 people to form this group.
Goals: learning, improving and mastering ski techniques; improving general and specific fitness level; learning, improving and mastering ski tactics, improving general and specific strength with emphasis on explosive power. This should be the second phase of year round activities/training. Summer training general preparation, mostly low intensity; fall training more specific and emphasis on high intensity; and winter training, on snow-situation training, combination of low and high intensity workouts
