A message from Floyd Reishus

Dear BSF members,
During the sprint races at Lindley Park last weekend, we, the coaching staff, failed to get three young ladies waxed in time for their start. I want everyone to know that I am mostly to blame. I somehow confused the start order and worked on the J2 boys’ skis, who went out last, rather than working on the J2 girls’ skis who went out earlier. If I had waxed skis in the proper order everyone would have got to their start on time. This has never happened before and I, and all of our other coaches, will do our best to make sure that it never happens again. I sincerely apologize to the three young ladies who missed their start.
I have worked with BSF as an unpaid volunteer for eleven years. Before I moved to Bozeman I had worked both as a high school and a university XC coach. This is, by far, the best program I have ever worked with. It has grown from one of the smallest programs in the Intermountain Region to rival Sun Valley, which for many years has been the most successful program in the whole Western United States. The success of the BSF program is due mainly to one person, Dragan Danevski. Dragan, and the other BSF coaches are not perfect human beings, but neither are our critics.
Sincerely,
Floyd Reishus

A message to volunteers/parents from Dragan Western States Youth Ski Festival trip, Feb. 26-28

Floyd — you are the best. We are very lucky to have you. I can’t thank you enough for the countless hours of waxing you have donated to our club. Also, great thanks to Dragan and all the coaches who fielded a large, well prepared and talented team of skiers this past weekend. I feel for the girls who missed their starting times, and I wish them all the best in their coming races. PF

back when I was a high school racer we waxed our own skis….seems like the modern day pampered skier is missing out… wax techs for kids, goood grief… dont feel bad Floyd… really the way I see it and its always been for me, you want to race, make sure your skis are waxed.

Floyd, I’d like to speak for the entire Karath family – we think you’re the best! You have donated so much time to this organization, and every BSF competitor has greatly benefited from your waxing expertise, not to mention all of your support throughout the years. Your participation has been so very much appreciated, and we can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done. Please don’t feel bad – it was just an unfortunate set of circumstances and a learning opportunity for everybody. We need you!!! Take care Floyd.

floyd, I am in awe at your hard work and dedication you have shown to us and the program throughout the years. The sucess the program has seen is in large part due to you as well. There is no one to blame here. It was an honest mistake. Thank you for all you do.
