Thanks from the Youth Ski League

Hello Everyone—
After a long delay, we wanted to say thanks to all for a great YSL ski season. We were waiting to post pictures on the BSF web page before contacting you—and before long, nearly 2 months had passed.
First and foremost, we wanted to compliment all of the kids. They were enthusiastic, respectful, and fun to work with. Each of them certainly became much more comfortable on Nordic skis during the season. Many also made great strides toward improved technique, in both classic and skate technique.
Secondly, the parents were all very supportive of the coaches and students alike. Thanks for encouraging your children to participate in this lifelong, family-oriented sport.
Lastly, but not least, all of the coaches were fantastic. We heard so many great compliments about this year’s program from parents, children, and other skiers in the community. The most important reason for that success is the quality and commitment of the coaches. Each of you should feel proud of your contribution—and we hope you will be back to coach again next year!
We have posted a bunch of great pictures from the Wednesday Lindley sessions on the BSF website. (Next year, we will make available photos from Bohart Saturdays, as well.) Go to www.bsfnordic.com, click on “photos” under “Resources.” Thanks to Deirdre Eitel for all of the really good ones!
Remember, for those kids who next year are interested in skiing more often during the week and learning the finer points of Nordic ski technique, the BSF J5 program is for 8/9 year olds and meets 3 days/week. The J4 program is for 10/11 year olds and meets 4 days/week. Transportation is provided with program shuttle vans from BHS and Sacajawea MS.
Have a great summer—and we hope that all of you will be back for more Nordic skiing next year. All the best—Erich Pessl, Dan Purpura, Mary Maifield
